17 May Body-Mind-Spirit Health Book Club

What are we reading?

When The Body Says No, By Gabor Mate, M.D.

Kitchen Table Wisdom, By Rachel Naomi Remen, M.D.

Radical Remission, By Kelly Turner, Ph.D

Hardwiring Happiness, By Rick Hanson, PH.D

Why join this book club?

This book club is for health-minded people who want to know more about the intricate connection between stress and their health, who are currently experiencing health challenges, or recovering from a major illness.
Reading with a group and having a discussion about what you read is very different from reading on your own. Reading with like-minded people allows you to have a sense of community and to feel supported. It also gives you an opportunity to hear your thoughts out loud and be validated by others. You will learn so much about your health and be empowered to take back your control.

Dates & Time

Starting on April 21, 2016, from 7:00pm to 9:00pm we will meet and greet, and discuss Chapter 1 & 2 of “When The Body Says No”. Then we will meet every other Thursdays 7:00pm to 9:00pm. The actual dates are:
May 5, May 19, Jun 2, Jun 16 & Jun 30

We will decide as a group if we will take a summer break.

Location: 201- 1826 West Broadway, Vancouver (waiting room of Ming’s office)

Cost: $30 per book (3 meetings), $99 for the whole series (recommended).

Why do I want to do this book club?

My first motivation of doing this book club is so I will review and finish reading the selected books which I have enjoyed reading. My second motivation is to meet like-minded people and to share inspiring conversations with them.

With decades of experience working with people facing mental health, physical health and life crisis, I have intuitively shared similar ideas and philosophy these authors backed up with neuroscience and scientific researches. I was ecstatic when I found them and I see them as resources that I would like to share with many others. Please email me ming@truepresencecounselling.com or call me 778-883-2238 to register, or if you have any questions. I look forward to seeing you at the club!
